On 19th June, I accompanied Adv. Brojen Roy, Vice-President Hindu Samhati and Sujit Maity during their tour of North Bengal. We begun our program with a meeting at Mariakund village near Gajol in the district of Maldah. We reached the place at around 7:30 PM through muddy road. Though it was quite late in the night, especially considering the local ambiance, there were 45-50 youths present in the meeting. The meeting took place in a newly built ashram which provides residential facility to students. The villagers had already witnessed jihadi attack back in 2009 and cases are still pending against some of them. We made them aware about the changing scenario of West Bengal due to rapid demographic change as part of jihadi conspiracy which is being expedited due to minority appeasement policy of all political parties and reluctant attitude of administration. We also had interesting interactive session at the end of the meeting. The meeting continued for more than 2 hours under open sky and only a few emergency hurricanes were source of light which hardly enabled us to see each other’s face. After meeting, we had dinner in the ashram and left for Raigunj.
Next day, we left for Bhatol village to attend Kshatrashakti Jagaran Yajna. There was quite enthusiasm amongst the villagers over the event. The Yajna was conducted by Swami Niranjanananda Maharaj from Bharat Sevashram Sangha. More than 100 villagers took active part in the Yajna. Women participated in the event in quite good numbers. Around 40 boys of Hindu Samhati took pledge to protect the society and offered ahuti to Yajna. After the Yajna, Swamijis from Bharat Sevashram Sangha performed aarti of Swami Pranabananda and also displayed their expertise with weapons like sword, chakra etc. The event was concluded with the message from Swami Niranjanananda Maharaj and Sri Brojen Roy appealing people to learn the art of self defense. Swamiji advised them to practice their traditional weapons like bow-arrow and appealed women villagers to keep small but sharp weapon with them for self defense. After the event, khichuri was distributed amongst the villagers. After the completion of the event, we went to Dalkhola.
In the morning of 21st June, we went to Karandighi village near Samaspur and held a meeting with villagers. After the meeting, we moved to Kaligram where another meeting took place. More than 50 villagers joined the meeting. After meeting, we had lunch in the village and further moved to Jagatgao, a border adjacent village. After the meeting, we left for Kolkata late in the afternoon.
