Jumla?

During the campaign for the general election 2014, in a rally at Asansole, Narendra Modi announced that every single person who illegally entered the country from Bangladesh would be driven away. That created huge furore in the state politics as ruling party along with other local parties interpreted that announcement as potential threat to even Hindu migrants and panic loomed large all over the state.

Sensing the panic, Narendra Modi came out with an explanation in the laterpart of his campaign. In his rally at Barasat, he explained that those who worship Maa Durga and have been forced to come to this country for continuous attack on them over their religious & cultural identity (read Hindus), need not to worry as they will be considered as migrant, not infiltrator, and awarded with citizenship status. This came as a big relief for Hindus and they thought, finally, 'achhe din' were to come.

Now, after one in the office, Modi Sarkar is all set to act in a way which is 180 degree opposite to it's poll promise. The following report suggests, the claim made by Modi, during campaign, to determine the status of different communities with a realistic approach based on ground realities, has received a big jolt as, now, everyone, irrespective of their religious & cultural identity, shall be considered on the basis of common yardstick. There will be no difference between a migrant and infiltrator though there is specific UN guideline to differentiate between the two.

Hapless Hindu migrants who thought, during campaign, that 'achhe din' were to come, are now living with the worst nightmare of their life to become victim of another poll prank popularly known as 'jumla'.
