It is absolutely ridiculous to find when the people across the country, irrespective of their class and caste, supporting the Anna Hazare's fight against corruption, the main opposition party i.e. BJP and its mother organization RSS is keeping their mouth shut and waiting to count the chickens once they are hatched. They are still unsure whether to support or oppose the movement led by Anna Hazare.
There is a old saying in Hindi which says hamam me sab nange hain (all are naked while in bathroom). So, the dilemma of the principal opposition party, whose main aim should be to spread awareness against anti people policies of the government, is well understood. As, today, BJP is in no way different to Congress, and when they have a leader like Advani who always dreams to be the next Prime Minister of the country, its very difficult for them to accept the clause of the Janlokpal Bill which recommends to put even the office of the Prime Minister under the ambit of the Lokpal.
BJP understands that supporting Anna’s movement can get boomeranged to them as they are harbouring people like Yedurappa only for their political benefit in caste based polarization. The power game within the party has become so evident that its president had to make it clear that in case they win the next general election, leader of the house will be decided only after the result is out. They have forgotten that only a few days back they used to criticize Congress for not projecting its Prime Ministerial candidate before going to public with appeal to vote.
It is not surprising that an ideologically bankrupt party like BJP is finding it hard to come clear on Anna’s movement but what makes RSS, who used to send its spokesperson to air its stand once an individual made any comment on them, totally speechless? The answer lies in the question itself. Now-a-days, RSS is more concerned about its leaders than the whole society. A few years ago, when the present leaders of RSS did not occupy the top echelon of the organization, it was RSS who was full of praise with Anna for his splendid work in developing village economy. In their camps, the then RSS leaders used to use superlatives regarding Anna to inspire its swamsevaks. But the moment Anna started uttering words against corruption by BJP leaders, in states and in center, RSS decided to refrain itself from publicly supporting Anna. It forgot that Dr. Hedgewar wanted it to be like a protective skins for the whole society not any individual. But power hungry present batch of RSS leadership preferred to play in the tune that suits political benefit of BJP.
